History & Mission of the Fort Lee Alumni Chapter
of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

The Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Founders
Chapter History and Mission
The Fort Lee (VA) Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Incorporated continues to grow in part through the Grand Chapter's establishment of Alumni Chapters, chartered to operate in specific geographical areas. Our mission is to sustain this prescribed membership and perpetuate the ideals and goals of the Grand Chapter and our Noble Fraternity.

The Fort Lee (VA) Alumni Chapter (EP), or FLAC, received its charter even though there was a chapter already in the Tri-City area of Virginia. It was determined that the Military and civilian personnel in the area definitely needed an Alumni Chapter they could identify with during their tours of duty while at Fort Lee. The written justification stated, that membership in the Petersburg Alumni Chapter would not suffer because of the additional chapter and on November 22, 1980, the Fort Lee (VA) Alumni Chapter (EP), or FLAC was acknowledged as a chartered chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Charter Members, Past Officers and Membership Groups
From the beginning, FLAC had men of vision and resolve. The Thirteen Charter Members wanted to have a Kappa Chapter which would strive for achievement and fellowship in the great tradition of the most "Illustrious Brother Elder Watson Diggs."
